Why not make coming to visit your loved one into a full day out or short break away.  Bognor Regis has many attractions and there is something for everyone, children and adults alike.  We take our residents out into the locality so why don’t you come and see why Bognor Regis is a wonderful place to visit and live.

We want to encourage friends and family both young and old to come and visit our residents and understand that with children keeping them entertained whilst remaining relaxed yourselves can be a challenge.  Team up a visit to the home with the many attractions that Bognor Regis has to offer and a visit to granny can be an exciting day out for all the family.

Bognor Regis is one of the oldest Saxon sites in West Sussex with first records in AD 680.  It remained a small fishing (and smuggling) village until 1785 when Sir Richard Hotham began to develop the area and created the beginnings of the thriving seaside resort town that Bognor is today.    The term Regis meaning “of the King” was added to the town name in 1929 following a visit to Bognor by King George V.  1936 saw the arrival of Butlins which is still one of the most popular holiday destinations for people from all over the country.

Blue Flag Award Winning Bognor Beach

Bognor Regis Beaches have flat level access from the promenade making them accessible for both families with young children and for visitors with mobility difficulties. The seafront promenade stretches for some 2.7 miles, and there are all the traditional beach attractions from the Bognor Regis promenade train to seafront bars and amusements. As well as being home to the world famous 'Birdman' event the grade II listed pier which was built in 1865 has many attractions of its own and provides a wonderful view of the town's beaches and the Sussex Coast.

Green Flag Winning Parks & Picnic Areas

Hotham Park contains a boating lake, mini railway, crazy golf, children’s play area, tennis courts, wildlife conservatory and a vast array of picnic sites and refreshment kiosks.  Marine Park Gardens, another green flag winning park is also worth a visit.  Both parks offer a chance to relax and enjoy the scenery and sunshine while the children burn off some of that energy.

South East Britain in Bloom Winning Bognor Village

There is something for everyone in the village.  The Bognor Museum is where to find out about the areas rich history.  The Picturedome Cinema built in 1886 has a historical exterior but up to date cinema technology which our residents frequently enjoy.  For those more artistic there is the Regis Centre (AKA the Alexandra Theatre) which is host to many shows both local and touring, plus classical music evenings and art gallery displays.  The village centre has regular open air markets, a cultural mix of places to eat, department stores for all those shoppers and clubs and pubs for the night owls.

Throughout the summer Bognor is host to the many popular annual events such as the ROX music festival, Hotham Park Country Fair, Bognor Carnival and the world famous Birdman event to name but a few.
